Summary

Trades involving a Round 1 or Round 2 draft pick are automatically vetoed.

Goal

To preserve the competitiveness within the league by limiting how much teams can tank.

Proposal

Starting with the 2025 season, trades involving a Round 1 or Round 2 will be disallowed by the Trade Committee.

Teams with a Round 1 & Round 2 draft pick are competitive, moreso than a team without these draft picks. By ensuring each team has their first two picks, it should be less obvious who is “sitting out” for the season.

This also prevents teams from accumulating too many high-value draft picks. This propsal should also yield fewer juggernaut teams, which greatly discourage league participation.
