2024, Week 10 Newsletter
05 Nov 2024Press Box Observations
Overview
Week 9 was unhinged. We lived through some paramount moments on the field, witnessed horrific injuries in real-time, and a few games going into overtime. All this translated into some “boom or bust” moments in fantasy football.
Todd’s team decides to clock back in this week, claiming the top scoring team of the week at 148.84
points. Joining him in the century club are Josh, Ryan, Allen, Sam, and – of course – moi (me).
Todd claims himself a double crown with his Biggest Blowout victory, soundly defeating Fred by 59.35
points.
With the epic Chiefs-Buccaneers game to close out the week, I was able to scrape by with the Victory for Ants (smallest margin of victory) with 1.41
points.
Reviewing the Matchup of the Week
115.30
to 113.89
Going into Monday Night Football, this match-up was going to be a close one. I didn’t see Sam on Monday, but I bet it felt something like this:
It goes without saying, but this truly was a nail biter. Unlike every other prime time game, this went all the way down into over time.
Power Rankings
The math does not lie.
Despite all his luck, Tony saw the biggest movement by dropping a whopping 3 ranks in the Power Rankings. Allen makes a modest improvment on the Power Rankings, moving up a couple of ranks. Otherwise, there were some small shifts.
Todd has 7.28
points above Ryan to firmly uphold being first in the Power Rankings.
Matchup of the Week
This is the closest we’ll get to a Sith fight, as we prepare ourselves to watch Fred go toe-to-toe with the person that brought him into the league: Tony.
Yahoo! thinks this will be a close one, but that doesn’t spark joy in the gamba spirit. Going off of the Power Rankings, we’ll give Fred a -4.50
for the spread. I think it’ll be closer to -14.27, but I’ll side with the math here.
