2024, Week 9 Newsletter
29 Oct 2024Press Box Observations
Overview
After a half a season, some of these teams are finally waking up. For a second week in a row, 9 teams made it into the century club. Tony leads the week with a whopping 148.96
points. Leon, Josh, Fred, Ryan, Sam, David, and Todd also hit 100+ points. Last, and least, I also find a way to make it into the century club.
Tony takes the double crown victory this week by also owning the biggest blow-out. He dominates Mike with a devastating 49.83
lead, which is worse than the Titans’ loss.
Sam edges through with the smallest victory margin of 8.33
points, earning his first win for the season.
Reviewing the Matchup of the Week
117.27
to 138.43
With Kirk Cousins completing his Atlanta Falcons franchise, Fred would have covered the spread. Alas, Kirk Cousins had to be punished and ride the pine for his pregame hype speech.
Power Rankings
Mike’s upset is easily recognized here in the Power Rankings, as Tony skyrockets himself up 5 ranks.
Ryan – along with his win this week – seizes the opportunity to climb 2 ranks into 2nd on the Power Rankings. Yours truly – me – finally snaps the Bad Luck Brian streak and raise a couple of ranks as well.
Allen takes a large fall this week, dropping an entire 3 ranks. Roy also takes a tumble, after an upset of a loss this week.
Matchup of the Week
Ah yes, it’s my time in the limelight.
We’re going to learn from the NFL and not highlight a game destined to be a blow-out. This week’s matchup is the battle of the broken, the beaten, and the damned. Only one of us will defeat our demons; all the non-believers, and they plans they have made.
Yahoo predicts that I’m the Underdog. Let’s face it, the TE position is such a wasteland this year that I’m practically playing Kittle on his bye week. So we’ll ignore the PowerRankings for once and side with the withered tech giant on this one.
We’ll give Sam a spread of -5.5
.
